Cross-Linked Chitosan-Glyoxal/Kaolin Clay Composite: Parametric Optimization for Color Removal and COD Reduction of Remazol Brilliant Blue R Dye

Kaolin clay (KN) was employed as an inorganic filler to modify a cross-linked chitosan-glyoxal Schiff’s-based chitosan composite derivative (CTS-GLY). The resulting (CTS-GLY/KN) found be promising synthetic biopolymer that can potentially utilized for color removal well COD reduction of industrial anionic dye (remazol brilliant blue R, RBBR). surface porosity, crystallinity, morphology, functionality, charge, and amine content the CTS-GLY/KN were studied using BET, XRD, SEM, FTIR, pHpzc pH-potentiometric titration analyses, respectively. Response methodology-Box-Behnken design (RSM-BBD) used optimize impact main input factors on RBBR. adsorptive performance towards RBBR well-defined by both Langmuir Freundlich isotherm models with highest adsorption capacity 447.1 mg/g at 30 °C. This finding reveals promising, feasible, environmentally friendly composite-biosorbent textile dyes from aqueous medium.
